After 18 months of deliveries and collections, we’re delighted to be finally returning to community dining. Sitting down with our guests to share a nutritious meal and great conversation is what FoodCycle is all about.
None of what we do would be possible without our team of hard-working, passionate volunteers, who really believe in what we do at FoodCycle. We welcome volunteers from all walks of life, with any amount of experience and every one of them has a different reason for showing up each week.
We recently asked our volunteers what about the work that FoodCycle do motivates them the most. We found:
-
15% of our volunteers said that connecting communities was the most important part of what FoodCycle do
-
25% told us that supporting our guests mental health and wellbeing was the number one reason they volunteered with FoodCycle
-
45% picked nourishing the hungry as the top motivation for giving up their time to volunteer
-
15% said that the major driver for signing up as a FoodCycle volunteer was what we do to promote sustainability
Across September we will introduce you to some of our lovely volunteers and find out exactly what it is that makes them turn up to our FoodCycle Projects week after week.
We can’t wait for you to meet them!
In the meantime, why not watch our video below, where we have a natter with FoodCycle Project Leaders from across the country…
