Head of Programmes, Pete McCabe, joins us from The Canal and River Trust and has previously held roles at Edge Foundation and The Prince’s Trust. Having led high-performing operations teams, managed change projects and with a wealth of experience in programme delivery, Pete is the perfect person to support the team as we grow to 100 Projects by 2025.
Pete’s passion for food also saw him set up an organic fruit and veg delivery service and take a year out to work for chef Albert Roux OBE. Pete says “I’m incredibly excited to be joining FoodCycle and it’s been very inspiring to hear the plans for growth. With a real passion for food and people, this role feels like it was made for me. I’m looking forward to leading the team and helping them reach their targets, as well as supporting Sophie as she moves into the role of CEO.”
Marlyn McQuaide steps into the newly created position of Head of Finance. Marylyn has over 20 years of experience within financial services, predominantly holding senior positions for banking businesses including HSBC and Deutsche Bank.
Marylyn says “I had been wanting to move away from the corporate sector and was keen to join a values-led organisation with a positive societal and environmental impact. My search led me to FoodCycle and I’m delighted to have joined the team as we embark on an important period of growth, which will enable us to bring our services to many more communities.”
The new appointments are part of the transition plan, ensuring that there is a smooth handover in preparation for Mary stepping down from her role as CEO, at the end of the year. Sophie will then take over the CEO position from January 2024 and Mary will become Chair of the Board.
