Love it or loathe it, the 14th February is upon us again and on behalf of everyone here at FoodCycle, a very Happy Valentine’s Day to you all.
This year has been particularly romantic across the FoodCycle family: we can’t name too many names but we know some wonderful FoodCycle couples in Clacton, Liverpool and a special two who are off travelling the world – and don’t even talk about the time we got all mushy when FoodCycle Cambridge catered Hub Leader Zoe’s wedding.
So here’s who we’re all starry-eyed over this Valaz Day…
Our volunteers
We could not do what we do without you. Full stop. There’s no way we could have ever served over 150,000 meals without your energy, dedication and commitment to FoodCycle – not to mention the many Hub Leaders that give up so many of their weekends and evenings week-in, week-out. You are seriously amazing – thank you to you all for every hour you have given.
Our suppliers
Thank you to the supermarkets, retailers, markets and independent shops for choosing to donate your surplus to us. Even if it’s a bit squishy, dinted, bruised, bashed or wrinkled, it’s still got a place in FoodCycle’s hearts (and kitchens!) It’s perfectly good food and we put it to very good use – so thank you for helping us to do that.
Our fundraisers
Whether you’re a Breadline Challengee, a marathon runner, a mountain climber, a cyclist, a cake seller, a Santa Dasher, a Christmas card seller or a pop-up restaurant organiser – we love you! You raise vital funds for us to keep us doing what we do, thank you so much.
Your not-so-secret admirer,
