Happy birthday FoodCycle Liverpool!

FoodCycle Liverpool turns one

On Thursday 29th November, FoodCycle Liverpool celebrated its first birthday in Toxteth.

For the past year, a committed team of volunteers have been serving meals to the local community every Wednesday evening and it was clear on Thursday just how much the meal means to the guests, many who are regular attendees.

The team cooked a delicious meal of carrot and coriander soup, Spanish omelette, vegetable pasta and mixed berry strudel, all made from surplus food.

The Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr Roz Gladden, joined Shelley from Tesco Park Road and the local press at the party.

Thank you

Since opening, FoodCycle Liverpool has cooked over 2000 meals – and a huge thank you to Paula Bridson, vicar at St Cleopas, and to the wonderful volunteers.
