FoodCycle Clacton-on-Sea is looking to recruit a volunteer Support Officer to help out at the project’s weekly cooking sessions on Monday lunchtimes.
The project, which regularly serves lunch to around 50 people from the local community, is looking for someone who will be responsible for providing support, assistance and signposting to guests when needed.
This weekly community meal brings people together who are from a high area of need. Many of the guests are vulnerable people with mental and physical health issues, and FoodCycle Clacton has identified that they want to provide more support for these individuals. Having recently started a partnership with Colchester Mind who are providing two support workers for some of the session, they will also have access to a separate room for private conversations.
FoodCycle Clacton is now recruiting for a volunteer to ensure the project is supported properly – the person should have experience or looking to gain experience in working with vulnerable people and will be committed to the weekly sessions on a Monday lunchtime.
This is a great opportunity to make a difference to the lives of our guests in Clacton.
Take a look at Clacton Support Officer role description and please share with anyone you think might be suitable for this position.
