Over the last week we have had to look at how we operate our meal services in line with new Government guidelines. As of today, we have made the difficult decision to put all FoodCycle Projects on pause, for the time being.
The whole nation is facing an extremely difficult time right now and we want to protect our guests, volunteers and do what we can to support social distancing.
This decision has not come lightly, please be assured that we are doing everything we possibly can to continue to serve our guests but in order for us to do this, we have to make some big operational changes. We are looking at a number of options including linking up with other organisations and we just need a bit of time to work on this. We hope to have a new service back up and running as soon as possible, we can’t guarantee a timeframe, but we hope it will be within a few weeks.
Now, and once this global pandemic is over, our service is going to be needed more than ever and we want to ensure that we have a long-term sustainable plan that will continue to support the vulnerable long into the future.
Not only are we facing operational challenges but also financial, so a huge thank you to everyone for your continued support and to our incredible team of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers.
We will be back up and running as soon as we possibly can.
