We all know that the beginning of a new year is the time for resolutions: losing a stone, running a marathon, eating less chocolate and flossing more regularly – the classics that seem to come round ever year. New Year, new you! seems to shout out from every magazine article or advertising billboard.
Well, why not, this year, do things a little differently? Could this be the year that you make a resolution you actually want to keep? (let’s face it, leaping out of bed each morning for a run really is not that appealing…)
Get stuck in!
Now something much more fun (and good for the soul) is to get involved in your local community.
This could be the year your resolution is not to get in shape but to give something back. Wherever you are – Portsmouth or Peckham, Liverpool or Leeds – we’ve got some great opportunities for you to get involved in. Find a FoodCycle Hub in your local area.
Sounds great – what’s next?
Find out more about volunteering with FoodCycle – you don’t have to be a Masterchef whizzkid, all you need is energy, enthusiasm and a wish to make a difference.
If you want to really support a FoodCycle project, we are always looking for committed individuals to join our Hub Leader team. These people make FoodCycle possible, responsible for running the Hubs, making the meals such a success and supporting vulnerable people across the country.
Find out more about becoming a Hub Leader, or drop us an email at hubs@foodcycle.org.uk if you have any questions at all.
We’ve got a good feeling about 2016 – we hope you do too. Happy New Year!
