Feeding the 5000

12pm - 2pm, Friday November 18th, 2011 - Trafalgar Square

On Friday November 18th, we're delighted to be involved once again with the brilliant Feeding the 5000 event on Trafalgar Square. Founded by food waste guru Tristram Stuart, the event seeks to feed 5000 passers-by a hearty, tasty meal created entirely from surplus food.

Sign this food waste pledge and show your support!

Naturally, we're really excited to be a part of this - and we'll be hosting our own field kitchen where the fantastic Valentine Warner will be preparing a dish with the help of the audience. There’ll be all sorts going on: free lunch, apple-pressing (and apple-juice drinking!), cooking demonstrations, and live pigs (!) in Trafalgar Square!

Keep your lunch hour plans free and get yourself over to the square to enjoy the afternoon with 4999 other people! Take the food waste pledge and let’s make a difference!

Feeding the 5000 will show how easy it is to reduce the unimaginable levels of food waste in the UK and internationally. And how governments, businesses and individuals can help.

A Good Meal

DRUMROLL.....

It’s the moment you’ve all be waiting for: we’re doing events at FoodCycle HQ!

Yes, we are rather excited to announce that, from this day forward, FoodCycle will be putting on events to supplement our core cafe and hub work, bringing you more transformed surplus food to a table near you. As this event is a bit of a landmark for us, we are teaming up with the great people behind A Good Week to showcase our work.

A Good Meal!

We are organising three course, pop-up dinners across 3 evenings for A Good Week, two of which will be open to the public.

We shall be opening our doors to provide the first 50 lucky people each night with A Good Meal. Set in a transformed East London setting, guests will enjoy 3 courses and FREE food-related goodies. Each guest will also be entered into a prize draw to win a prize courtesy of our sponsors, Belling.

For a Good Week

Owing to the positive contribution FoodCycle makes to local communities up and down the UK, we have been invited to be a part of A Good Week this year.

A Good Week, 20th-26th June 2011, is a global celebration of all the Good that happens in the world, and over ‘seven supercharged days’, the festival will shine the spotlight on the people, communities and businesses making the world a better place!
